2007 Annual Letter from Kenny & Lila Joseph (English)

Dear friends,

We haven't written to you for half a year because I had an accident.
On the last day of 2006 I was riding down by a nearby park/lake with my 6-year old granddaughter on the back children's seat when suddenly I hit a little ditch, lost my balance and
toppled. She landed in a bush like a butterfly and thankfully was not hurt. But I hit a tree stump and needed l6 stitches on my face....and had a dislocated shoulder. The twins were shaking and wondering if "Grampa was gonna die," as I lay there bleeding, I felt the Lord would spare my life because He still had work for me to do and 5 things flashed through my mind:

  1. I needed to finish the bi-lingual message book Japan's Christian Roots (l,800 years old) and
  2. The CD of Bible stories;
  3. I needed WLP to reprint our 3 books on Evangelism written by Rev. Goto and me;
  4. I needed to put onto CDs l0 scrapbooks of pictures and articles that can be used for message illustrations, and
  5. I needed to get all the material on "Keikyo" organized and into a library, possibly at Tokyo Christian University,the Foreign Missions Department, where i taught for 5 years.

Even though we should have retired at 65, we keep busy and are thankful for your love and prayers. We are the proud parents of 4 sons, 3 precious daughters in law, and 13 grandkids, and
we're praying that one will feel called to be our successors here. Meanwhile, what do I do?

Five Sweet P's: Pray, Preach, Plant, Promote and Publish.

Just yesterday at the Tokyo Foreign Correspondents group we met with a Mr. Ishihara who will finalize, revamp and re-name Jesus and Jizo into a bi-lingual book called "Japan's Christian
Roots." If you're in Japan, you can contact me
If you're in America, you can write to REAP, PO Box 488, La Mirada, Ca., 90637.

Oops! It's Monday and I have to prepare for this next Sunday's message--typical missionary reaction. I prepared for you 50 messages, each one has one major point like "The Commandments...Best 10." All you have to do is put the CD into you PC or Apple and ask God to give you guidance as to which message you could make your own for next Sunday, which is Father's Day

For instance, I turn the famous Prodigal Son story into our love- based Father God and emphasized God's love for the prodigal: "The Father Who Waited!"

The book "Kesareta Jujika no Kuni: Nippon" has sold so well in the l4,000 secular bookstores that they are going to make it into the famous small-size paperback. That is the Japanese-only version of Jizo. It's translated and being put into an English-only copy. It is also available on video in English or Japanese.

Convert or Behead!

Suppose your pastor was assaulted by the Soka Gakkai who told him to leave Christianity and join them or give $400,000 or "We'll kill you." But when only $40,000 was gathered, they beheaded him anyway. This is just what happened in Ninevah,Iraq with the Muslims being in place of the Soka Gakkai! We are still receiving donations to help the Christians over there, sending it by secret courier.
Our son Ken is working to get the Assrian Christians their own prefecture. Please pray for this.

We don't sell anything. REAP is a non-profit Mission--Shukyo Hojin-- we just offer these evangelism tools for you at a "suggested donation."

"Wow! You have a terrific website! Who does that for you?" wrote Rick: Butterfly Corporation: http://butterflycorp.com a bi-lingual team.

God bless you really good.

Cordially,

Kenny and Lila Joseph
